Tuesday, July 11 2023:  Today is an auspicious day. It is because I believe it. This is the start of a new chapter, a new era for me. I want to share my thoughts, feelings, and topics I find interesting to broaden horizons and hopefully create creative connections for those who visit.  Creativity is a fickle beast. Like happiness or success, the only control we have over the process is creating an environment where that feeling can thrive. One can create conditions for happiness in their life and not be happy all of the time. That's okay, being happy all the time would get boring. Living a life that allows you to be happy when you feel it is the point. The same principle can be applied to Success and Creativity. Live a life that has space for success and creativity to take advantage of those opportunities.

While the principles are similar the biggest difference between the three, beside the fact we are talking about three distinct concepts, is the amount of opportunity required to see a return. Happiness requires the fewest amount of external factors to see a return, that is happiness can be found anywhere, anytime but not everywhere all of the time. Ideas for cultivating an environment for happiness to thrive include: taking care of your body, doing things you like to do, listening to yourself and trusting your feelings.

Creativity is also largely personal but for true creativity, connecting dissimilar topics and ideas, to create a new thing necessarily requires external input. This means exposing yourself to new ideas, experiences and schools of thought. This extra bit of effort is what puts in between happiness and success for me. Activities to expand your idea creation: pay attention to the world around you, think about problems or issues and brainstorm solutions with yourself, or with others if you feel so inclined.

Success is the most difficult as requirements for success, opportunities you enable via your effort, are mostly out of your control. Take advantage of events and situations that occur in your life. Talk to people you don't know, either in person or online, to increase your network, which increases the number of chances for you to live the result you wish. For example, most people have spent time looking for a job. The effort that you put in, like schooling, certifications and submitting resumes, does not guarantee a job offer. This can be a hard truth. This is why perseverance, the continued effort after setbacks, is important. Eventually you will either get the job offer you want or create the success you seek.

I hope this gave you something new to think about. Whether you agree or not with my thoughts on the subject exposure to a new avenue of thought can create new connections in your brain, expanding the chance you will find happiness, success or creativity.

February 12, 2024: It has been a while. I have had some setbacks in my adventures towards both happiness and success. Suffice to say I have not achieved my goals yet but have not quit.
